British Grand Prix, Silverstone – Free Pit Lane Walkabout
Silverstone will open its pit lane to fans holding three-day tickets on the Thursday in front of this current year’s British Grand Prix.
The circuit will have their 50th grand prix on Sunday 6th July and as a major aspect of the festival, fans will have the opportunity of a free pit-path walkabout and revel in a Kaiser Chiefs concert short of what 24 prior hours the F1 cars take off for Practice at this noteworthy venue.
‘This will be allowed to all fans holding a Three Day Ticket to the British Grand Prix,’ Silverstone proclaimed. ‘Fans can get closer than any other time to their most loved teams with exceptional access to the Pit Lane as the groups and drivers are in full readiness mode in front of the Grand Prix weekend.
There will be five Pit Lane walkabout throughout the span of the day. A predetermined number of tickets are accessible for every Walkabout and will be dispensed on the day.’ On Friday fans are welcome to go to in extravagant dress from any period of F1 and Managing Director of Silverstone Richard Phillips says fans could be “as wacky” as they like.
“We are changing things a bit not long from now and we are going to opening up on Thursday, we are going to do a pit lane for individuals who have three-day tickets and the Kaiser Chiefs are going to be playing too.
This is the 50th F1 grand prix at Silverstone and we will be marking that with a fancy dress day on Friday, so spruce up in period dress from the decades and we’ll transfer the pictures to our site and afterward judge them on Friday evening – you can come as wacky as you like.”
